Coming Into My Own!

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

~1 John 3:2~

I’m extremely excited about this journey in my Ph.D. studies. I hope to use this blog to bring clarity to my thoughts and to bring messiness to what I perceived to be clear-cut. I wish to grow in my writing and researching. Please offer critiques, point out grammatical mistakes, and help me find better and more concrete ways to say what I mean. I truly wish to be a community scholar, and as such I wish my work to be transparent. Sometimes this blog will use academic jargon from the fields of Leadership, Theology, Public Policy, Philosophy, and other fields that I am trying to grasp. If the jargon I use is in correct, then please correct me so that I may continue to grow. I will also begin to hone my creative writing and use this space to narrate the experiences that have shaped my research interests.

As I come into my own I am reminded that life is an ever-evolving, ever-growing process. What I am right now is not what I will be tomorrow, or the next day, or the next month, or the next year. This can be unnerving at times, breaking away from ideas and perceptions previously held, but I believe the metamorphosis is moving me toward God given truths and a greater likeness to God. I don’t know what I will be, but I do know who is molding me. In that I shall rest.
